The dog-friendly beer garden

A dog-friendly pub in Budleigh Salterton

There’s a dog on our sign for a reason. Well-behaved dogs are welcome in the bar, the garden and even the function room, with water and treats on the house.

Muddy paws welcome

Bring the whole family, four legs included

The pub got its name from Florrie Doney’s dog, who followed her donkey and coal cart around Knowle a hundred years ago. We’ve been welcoming dogs ever since.

After a walk on the beach at Budleigh, along the Otter Estuary or across the Pebblebed Heaths, come and dry off by the fire. Your dog gets water and a treat, and you get a pint and something good to eat.
